The MSA SSR 30/100 is an oxygen self-rescuer from MSA and is suitable for use in oxygen-deficient, ambient atmospheres where a rescue or escape may need to take place. It will provide you with 30 minutes breathing air.
The SSR 30/100 is ready for use and comes in a stainless steel case, which is ideal for use in tough conditions. The housing is airtight but can be easily and quickly opened when required.
These self-rescuers protect you against toxic contaminants using chemically generated oxygen. An in-built canister in the SSR 30/100 contains potassium hyperoxide (KO2), which reacts with any exhaled air. This means carbon dioxide is retained and oxygen is released into the breathing bag.
The wearer’s work rate will determine the service time of the SSR 30/100. With a heavier workload and high breathing rate more oxygen will be generated whereas slower, shallow breathing will reduce the amount of oxygen being generated.
